Word games are not hugely commonly associated with “Hyper Casual” space as much as Arcade or Action, but as a genre they are hugely popular.

For the most part, a word game is a type of game in which players compete in forming, thinking of, or guessing words according to a set of rules. Whilst a crossword, word search or even scrabble are not typically thought of when speaking of casual mobile games, there’s certainly an audience and probably a ton of room for innovation here.

Old timers may well remember “Words With Friends” by Zynga, an absolute juggernaut of the App Store since it’s release back in 2014 and still holding up today. As of right now, we think there’s a huge opportunity to “Hyper Casual” something similar and Voodoo certainly have made the connection with their release of “Type Run“.

Perhaps a classic word game like Hangman could be mixed with shooting game to guess the letters?
